Even through it was a grey weekend here in the Lehigh Valley, it did not keep us from making and creating some great art at The Banana Factory!
This Saturday at the Banana Factory in South Side Bethlehem, Crinkle hosted a birthday party event. Over twenty 3-5 year olds experienced an interactive story time and created a colorful dream catcher with their parents.
The book that was read is How to Catch a Star, written and illustrated by the talented Oliver Jeffers. The story follows a little boy who longs for his very own star. After many attemps at catching a star, the boy finally succeeds!
The children then created their very on "star catcher" (aka dream catchers) using bright and colorful materials. Yarn and pom poms were all over the place as well as decorative washi tape and die-cut star shapes, bright feathers and wood beads. It was such fun to see parents interacting and helping their child create an art project together, asking them questions about their work. It was truly an exciting morning and Crinkle was honored to be a part of it.
